Join us as we re-imagine education! Our flagship program sees students learning through hands-on projects that have meaningful relevance and direct impact on our community. The skillset you will develop in solar/wind electrical applications, natural and conventional building, plumbing for rainwater and greywater, and sustainable agriculture will serve you throughout your life. This program is meant for young adults that want to learn and live consciously, with purpose and deliberate action.

I believe that there exists an innate human desire to find and fill a meaningful role within your community. The Sol Learning Institute is my next concentrated effort in a life goal of bringing forth collective action by inspiring and empowering our community. Thank you for your interest in creating relevant education here in Nevada County!
I've spent the last decade providing robust curriculum to high schools and colleges, training faculty and administrators in the implementation of big picture sustainability practices that translate standards into action, building demonstration sites that showcase concepts while providing an educational platform for communities, and developing a comprehensive series of workshops to empower participants with skills for action. I have been blessed to continue offering customized training for industry professionals and professional development for teachers, but it is time to find a local expression of my skills and passion.
I am thrilled to offer, in collaboration with the local community, the launching of the Sol Learning Institute. True education happens when we stop talking, step off the lectern, and engage with the needs of the present. Together, we will build a platform for implementing meaningful and relevant education here in the foothills of Nevada County. Please join me as we work together to redefine what school looks like. Whatever your age, come teach and learn with us through our flagship, year round young adult program, The Sol Experience or in one of our Community Workshops. Together we can do better.
